Education, Experience, & Other Requirements

  • All applicants are required to fill out an application (PDF Format only).
  • The following are requirements for Entry Level Administrative Positions:
    • High school graduate or GED, supplemented by six months to one year experience in an office or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Great Communication Skills with ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing and a good knowledge of general office procedures and practices, and business English.
    • Computer Proficiency with skills in the operation of personal computers, applicable software, and general office equipment.
    • Pleasant and congenial personality.
    • Ability to make quick and accurate decisions based on established procedures.
    • Ability to ask relevant questions, obtain and accurately record information; courteously explain procedures and impart information to clients, staff and other individuals.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with co-workers, and other business contacts; maintain records and prepare reports as assigned and maintain confidentiality of the Authority’s operations.
    • Ability to deal effectively with situations that require tact and diplomacy, yet firmness.
    • Must be bondable with a valid Arkansas Driver’s license and eligible for coverage under Authority fleet auto insurance.
  • The following are requirements for Maintenance Positions:
    • High school graduate or GED, supplemented by six months to one-year experience in construction/maintenance related work or an equivalent combination of education.
    • Must have considerable knowledge of maintenance, grounds care and cleaning equipment, materials, supplies, methods and procedures, and knowledge of the principles, practices, tools and materials used in one or more building trades (i.e. carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry, heating or electrical trades).
    • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety procedures of the trade.
    • Skilled in the use and care of common hard tools required in building and equipment maintenance and construction work.
    • Ability to perform maintenance and repairs in one or more trades.
    • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
    • Ability to perform tasks requiring moderately heavy manual work.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, tenants and the general public.
    • Bondable with a Valid Arkansas driver’s license and eligibility for coverage under Authority fleet Auto insurance.
  • The following are requirements for Management Positions:
    • High school graduate or GED, Associate’s degree preferred, supplemented by six months to one year experience in a office management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Ability to understand HUD regulations and Authority policies, procedures and practices pertaining to the various housing programs.
    • Good knowledge of general office procedures and practices, business English, and basic bookkeeping.
    • Ability to communicate and express oneself clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with clients, staff, managers, and maintenance personnel.
    • Skills and extensive knowledge of personal computers, applicable software, and general office equipment.
    • Ability to make quick and accurate decisions based on emergency situations and established procedures.
    • Ability to ask relevant questions, obtain and accurately record information; courteously explain procedures and impart information to staff, residents, and other individuals.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with co-workers, vendors, and other business contacts; maintain records and prepare reports as assigned and maintains confidentiality of the Authority’s operations.
    • Ability to deal effectively with situations that require tact and diplomacy, yet firmness.
    • Bondable with a Valid Arkansas driver’s license and eligibility for coverage under Authority fleet Auto insurance.
